Pre Assessment:
We haven't worked much on the project this week, but we want to find video clips on not only people in jail but also the effects it has on their children.
We still are trying to work on how to open our presentation, and how to incorporate the class
We have statistics, but we are trying to figure out where we want to use them in the presentation.
Kristen:
1. We selected this topic because we think it would be interesting to see how having parents incarcerated would impact a child's learning. I hope to learn about different children's experiences and how they are affected and to what extent.
2. The only concern I have at this point is about the amount of information we will be able to find and if it will be beneficial to the direction we are trying to go.
3. I believe the biggest asset I will bring to the group is my interest with jail and life in jail. Also, that I am goal oriented and when I have something I need to get done and I am sure to get it done.
Ashley:
We chose incarcenration because we found that this topic was interesting and that it happens to lots of families around the world. I hope to learn about how this may affect different families.
My concern is that we will not get enough information to fill up an hour of time & that of the information may repeat itself.
The biggest assest I bring to this group is my organization and my ability to get things done quickly. I also bring my self experience of the topic and ideas.
Sarah:
1. I was interested in this topic because I love to watch documentarys on incarceration and have always found this subject interesting. Also, I think this something that all teachers to be should aware of this topic to better understand their students.
2. The one concern I may have is offending somebody in the classroom, it may be an uncomfortable topic to discuss if somebody has a parent/sibilng in jail.
3. The asset I will bring to the group is organization, although we are all gold and this should be pretty organized already for us, I can help out too.
